Out and about

Nearby

Close to the villa is Koyunbaba Bay where there is a long, sandy beach and the Crystal beach-bar, which provides refreshing cold drinks and simple meals.

Gumusluk is the site of the unexcavated ancient city of Myndos, much of which has slipped beneath the waves. A submerged causeway allows visitors the opportunity to paddle across to rabbit-populated Rabbit Island.

Gumusluk Bay provided shelter for the fleet of Brutus and Cassius after the murder of Julius Caesar. And those famous lovers, Anthony and Cleopatra stopped here on the way to Egypt.

Ten minutes drive away; the bustling, little town of Yalikavak is more sophisticated with many shops, a well-filled supermarket, and boutiques.

Bodrum

27km away, Bodrum is a very lively town with a busy shopping area and colourful bazaar adjoining the port and the famous St Peter's castle. The weekly farmers' market is an essential visit. From the port daily hydrofoil crossings take just 20 minutes to the Greek island of Kos.

Cruising

The beautiful Aegean coastal waters are ideal for cruising and the famous locally made sailing boats, gulets, are available for private hire at a very reasonable cost or you can join a shared cruise from Bodrum or Yalikavak.

The crew will sail you into small secluded bays with time for swimming and exploring while they prepare your lunch on board.
